Alfabetização financeira entre millenials em Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, México

Este trabalho teve como objetivo medir a alfabetização financeira entre os millennials de Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, México; estudar sua relação com variáveis sociodemográficas e avaliar três índices de medição para determinar o mais conveniente. Foi utilizado um método baseado na análise fatorial de componentes principais e modelos probit ordenados. Os resultados confirmam que persiste uma lacuna de gênero significativa na amostra analisada, que a formação econômico-financeira está positivamente associada à alfabetização financeira e que um bom modelo para mensurá-la deve avaliar o conhecimento sobre inflação, diversificação de risco, juros simples e juros compostos. Esses achados podem ser aplicados ao desenho de estratégias de educação financeira que promovam o investimento e o empreendedorismo entre os jovens e, portanto, o desenvolvimento econômico e social.
