Abstract

This article is intended to show the impact of scientific and technological activities related to heliconia flowers in Colombia. To achieve this, the methodology developed by the Colombian Observatory of Science and Technology was used for finding the relationship between research and the associated resulting changes in this country with regard to production and exportation of this flower. It presents available information regarding scientific and technological activities conducted in Colombia. This information can be associated with the impact of these activities in terms of productivity, exports, employment generation, and improved quality of life.
