Abstract

This paper is a review of the legislative elections held in Colombia in 2010 and one of their main results, the establishment of the National Integration Party (PIN). The authors offer an analysis of articles that appeared in printed media, taking into consideration such variables as financing, legal constitution, popular acceptance and settling time. In this way, the authors attempt to demonstrate how the PIN managed to get a place in the political system and what are the consequences of this development, in particular, as the Department of Valle del Cauca is concerned.

  • Vanessa Ortiz López, Icesi University
    Politóloga con profundización en Relaciones Internacionales de la Universidad Icesi desde agosto de 2012. Durante su período de formación tuvo la oportunidad de desempeñarse en varias ocasiones como monitora académica y de investigación, así como de participar en 3 modelos nacionales e internacionales de las Naciones Unidas, siendo Cabeza de Delegación en dos oportunidades. Realizó un intercambio en la Universitat de Barcelona para el segundo período del 2011, mientras se desempeñaba como pasante de Redes Colombia, Ministerio del Exterior, en el Consulado General de Colombia en Barcelona. Tiene fuerte interés por desarrollarse profesionalmente en las áreas de relaciones internacionales, política exterior y cooperación internacional, como lo evidencia su tesis de grado: "No es solo cuestión de farándula: las exportaciones de Colombia como resultado de la profesionalización de los Embajadores y Embajadores plenipotenciarios”.
