Resumo

Durante muito tempo o empreendedorismo esteve subordinado a esfera empresarial enquanto que seu desenvolvimento em outras áreas, como a pública e a social, é bastante incipiente, apesar dos esforços que são realizados em instituições educativas de todos os níveis, centros de desenvolvimento e agências governamentais. Este documento propõe uma reflexão sobre a importância do empreendedorismo para o desenvolvimento eficiente e competitivo das sociedades, tomando como ponto de partida os diferentes conceitos que foram adotados, a fim de realçar seu caráter transdisciplinar. Posteriormente, revê algumas experiências para explorar novas possibilidades de aplicação e por último, solicita uma abertura para novas dimensões da vida em sociedade.
